"DAD" IS THE WORD

Dearest Dad,

Just the other day, I chanced upon an old photo of you; so young and looking so good. You looked so good I tried to imagine how you woo-ed Mum. She told me stories of your younger days, and at the back of my head, god I am your carbon copy. But when I try to think about the other traits that we share, the trail stops cold. You will take days or even weeks to consider buying things; but I'd just grab anything that caught my attention. You would stand for what's right and voice out without any fear; but I'd keep quiet and walk away, pretending to let go everything.

As I grow up, the word "Dad" meant curfews, and no fooling around in studies. Then, when tempered with time and the events in life, the significance of the word deepens. You have a reason for being tough on us. You want nothing but the best from your children. You hope to see your children grow up with pride. You implemented rules and curfews because you care for us; not because you want to control our life. You constantly reminded us to study hard and excel in our studies because you want us to lead a successful life in years to come; not because you want to torture us.

Dad, I love you more than anyone else. The endless encouragement you gave, is the reason to where I stand right now. You are my strength, the reason to "live strong".

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Love,
Dirah

I've made my momma proud by falling in love with a preetyboy; Fahn.
